I’m Claire, a wife and working Mum of two in my mid-forties. I created Club Forty in June 2016 to share my steps towards mid-life, inspired primarily by my love of fashion and all things style-related.
Club Forty grew from a time in my life that was overshadowed by sadness and utter despair and grief. I lost my Dad to Motor Neurons Disease in January 2013 – the month before my 40th birthday – and my Mum to Cancer a couple of years later in December 2015. I needed a creative outlet and something to take my mind off the stress of my day-to-day; and I used the blog to write about and process my feelings too.
Since starting Club Forty, I have become passionate about inspiring other women to gain confidence in their style post-40. I recognise that the 40s can be a challenging time for many reasons and I do believe that honing your style and dressing well for your shape and personality can be hugely empowering.
I hope that Club Forty will interest and appeal to women of all ages as it’s more about mindset; feeling positive, contemporary, energetic and vital. Because life, especially after the age of 40, should be fun & fashionable; even if we have to navigate a few challenges along the way!
Welcome to Club Forty!
