When Coast contacted me to ask if I’d like to try one of their fabulous AW cover-up pieces, I immediately zoned-in on the Hendy Suedette Cape. It appealed not only for its chic, yet contemporary style, but because I knew it would work so well in my wardrobe; suiting many outfits and occasions.
All the big fashion houses featured capes on their AW18 runways, from Saint Laurent in Paris to Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana in Milan. A classic cover up, the cape has been updated this season in many guises from fringed western styles, to throw-on blankets, to full-length, fur technicolour as worn by Cara Delevigne closing Christopher Bailey’s final Burberry show.
Much less garish but so much more wearable, Coast’s Hendy Suedette Cape features an asymmetric hemline with a generous, wide belt and studded belt loops to add definition at the waistline. The material is soft and buttery and feels incredibly luxurious.
The Hendy Suedette Cape is a versatile cover up that effortlessly upscales a pair of jeans and looks stunning with wide-leg trousers for a smarter occasion. Personally I prefer to wear a cape with trousers rather than a skirt or dress – but never say never! I know that I’ll be wearing this cape for many seasons to come – it just won’t date.
Perfect in these transitional Autumn temperatures, this cape makes for the perfect cover up. Either a light sweater or chunky jumper can be worn underneath. For a night out, it’s ideal to take you from the taxi to the dinner table in style!
For sure, I’ll be wearing the Hendy Suedette Cape mostly with jeans – totally my comfort zone, but high-low dressing perfection! This gorgeous cape from Coast has certainly filled a cape-hole in my wardrobe – expect lots of cape spam to follow!!!
Disclosure: this cape was kindly gifted to me by Coast, but all opinions are my own.
