I have a feeling this post will generate a divide… White boots are like marmite; you either love or hate them! For some, the connection with garish 80s outfits will be too much to override, but for others (me included), there’s a new appreciation for white footwear – especially boots!
They may be man-repellers (and who cares about that?!!) but white boots have ditched their trashy reputation and are now considered the epitome of cool. Flick through the street-style pages of any magazine or take a look at my Pinterest page here and you’ll notice all the current fashion icons sporting a pair of sparkling white boots.
White boots are a great alternative to trainers. They will work with all your regular outfits – trust me! Just swap your white pumps for white boots when you want to elevate the look and turn up the sass factor! Yes, they make a bold statement but if you’ve already embraced red boots, then why not white???
I purchased a pair of white shoe-boots last year from Next (after much deliberation!!!) I’ve already worn them loads and I’m confident I will continue to get lots of wear out of them this coming year.
You may have been lucky to snap up a pair in the recent sales, as they were discounted at Next, Top Shop and Zara. Otherwise, there are still lots of style options around and white boots are a perfect choice for Spring.
Choose from pointy stiletto-heeled ankle boots, western-style boots or chic, flat boots. Just remember to pop some white scuff polish in with your weekly shop!!
Wear white boots with cropped jeans and a blazer for a sharp, contemporary look, or pair them with your favourite floral dress to avoid looking too whimsical. I wear my white shoe-boots with black opaque tights to the office for a 60s beatnik vibe.
If you aren’t convinced about white boots, please at least banish any negative ‘Essex girl’ connotations!!! This is an out-dated cliché – thankfully, a stereotype our daughters have no understanding of and hopefully will never need to… (Look up the campaign #iamanessexgirl)
Wear white boots with pride, safe in the knowledge that you look super-stylish!

Mmmm, not sure if I’m brave enough – you rock them though! 😍👌🏻xxx
What’s brave about it Julia??? It’s funny that’s there’s such a stigma aroud them… X
It’s not the stigma, I’m just not good with anything too bright – bit of a ‘play it safe’ girl me 😬xxx
Although, I do like the look of the bottom right pair in your pic 😜 maybe I could be tempted 🤔 xxx
I sense a new purchase on the horizon Julia!!!!
I love the look and grabbed the Next ones for £12 but they were a bit big and didn’t suit me. Love the look on you 😘
Ahh shame those bargain Next ones didn’t suit you Louise… I am gutted I didn’t also nab a pair of those too!!! X
I’ve got the Clarks ones ordered! As they’re more of a shoey boot, I hoped they’d be really versatile and might go nicely through spring and early summer. And as my feet are a very definite half size, they are a good option for actually fitting, too. My only concern is little feet scrambling all over mine and scuffing them! You look gorgeous in them, as in everything xx
Thanks for the lovely compliment Marion! The Clarks ones (posted on my FB & IG page) look great! And agree – they’ll look ace with dresses & cropped jeans for the Spring. X
