We are are count-down to the big day! You’ve probably got several get-togethers and parties under your belt already. But in case you are still searching for outfit ideas; whether for pre-Christmas events, the big day itself or New Year… I have put together my top 10 ten festive outfits to help you plan for the special occasion. Whether you are itching to buy something new or will be ‘shopping your wardrobe’, I hope you’ll find some inspiration and shopping ideas in this post and the next instalment that will follow!
Shiny Dress
First on my top ten list of festive outfits has to be a shiny dress. The stores are awash with sparkly sequins and metallic this year and a dress is the ultimate in party dressing. When the lights go down you’ll twinkle as much as the fairy on top of the tree! I love this pewter, metallic dress from local boutique Kitty Rose.
Tuxedo Suit
My style heroines are women such as Bianca Jagger, Katherine Hepburn, Emma Willis and Victoria Beckham who all rock a tuxedo suit. So when I was asked to choose some clothes as part of a collaboration with JD Williams, I immediately honed in on this white tuxedo jacket. I’d love to wear a two-piece if truth be told, but I think these side split trousers (also JD Williams) make a pretty cool silhouette with the jacket. A classic party outfit.
Tulle Skirt
My love for Carrie Bradshaw will never wane and wearing a tulle skirt makes me feel proper girlie. I bought this skirt last year from ASOS, and I think I’ll keep it in my wardrobe forever! It’s the perfect party piece. I have worn it with heels and a simple black top but I equally like teaming it with a fine knit and my new, favourite chunky boots! Ideal for a nice lunch or trip to the theatre. I also think that navy makes a chic change from black…
Knitted dress
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that high on my priority list when choosing an outfit is comfort!! I cannot bear to feel too trussed or tied up, so a knitted dress is a perfect solution on a festive occasion. This bat-wing, metallic dress is also from my collaboration with JD Williams and it will definitely be my Christmas Day outfit as I know I’ll feel comfy whilst filling my belly on the big day!
Monochrome
Classic monochrome is a winner every time and is effortlessly chic. Whichever way to choose you wear a monochrome outfit; it will look cool and classy. This is an easy outfit that would work well for many festive occasions from cocktails to a dinner party. The sequin top is from H&M (current) and the wide-leg trousers are from M&S earlier this year.
Part 2 will be coming up soon… Have a fab time celebrating; whatever you do! And remember to drink plenty of water (note-to-self!!) Until next time…
